What I’ve been up to in 2011- February

March 22, 2011

Here we are- February re-cap- the last of my catchin’ up.

I’ve been trying to go to the market more often to buy meat and produce- The Bowland folk are really nice and gave us some recipe suggestions

For Valentine’s Day Adam and I kinda failed- he got me some Kinder Happy Hippos then we were going to go to IKEA- but failed- (because IKEA is where romance happens) Then we decided to go to the Marble Arch where I easily ate the tastiest meal of all the meals in Britain in the summer- so we felt like it was a safe bet.

It’s such a neat little pub

I always try to take photos of Adam when he’s not making his weird camera face. There is a face that he honestly only makes when a camera is around. Tried and true. This is not that face.

This is my camera face.

The meal was deeeelicious nom nom nom

And so was dessert.

Adam said that it looked like I was falling backwards off the chair so I provided flailing arm movements

This is Adam’s best face.

We did end up going to IKEA later that week and found some left over romance. Iwasn’t kidding.

Later in the month we went to Adam’s friend Anna’s birthday in Liverpool. It was a really, really fun shin dig- just a load of people listening to some tunes, drinking some wine, dressed as famous musicians who died at 27-
Any trip to Liverpool sends me into a photo frenzy though- duck pond!

Yay architecture!

And on Adam’s suggestion I FINALLY got to venture into the cathedral :D

It is MASSIVE.

SAAAWWWWOOOOOOONNNN!

And this is just one of the chapels inside. :O

LOOKIT! That is AMAZING. AMAZING!

The we went to this church that was damaged by bombs during the Blitz.

Next time I plan on adventuring to the museums! :D

At the end of the month those same lovely Liverpool folk came down to play a gig at Night and Day. Anna’s sister Katy is in this band. The Ratty Little Fingers. You should check them out. They are absolutely lovely.

Also playing were Or, the Whale- from San Fransisco. The lead singer Alex’s wife Melanie also introduced me to BettyDoes.com a fantastic site givin’ props to loads of ladies doing some incredible creative things!

Annnd that was February!

September, October and November (so far)- updatey!

November 22, 2010

Hey there,

It’s been a really long time since I’ve last blogged… again. So you get a really huge post with 59 photos. FIFTY NINE :O

Here’s a photo of the epic “Nintendo-thumb” that I received after playing the Scott Pilgrim video game a little too aggressively. heh

On a nice sunny day when Adam and I were both off work we went to Heaton Park and were both intrigued by this bird. Does anyone know what it is?

We also said hello to this peacock.

Then like a small child I couldn’t resist climbing on top of the sculptures outside of Heaton Hall.

Pony!

We believe that this is a yak. It have cloven hooves.

I was practicing my Top Model poses ;)

Our friends Beth and Paul got married on September 11th- this is how Adam prepares the night before:

Me all set and ready to go to Sheffield!

Then I noticed while I was getting ready and taking narcissistic photos- that I could see Adam checking himself out behind me in the frame ho ho ho!

That’s how a Hotwell stays Hot

Mr. and Mrs. Riddlesworth!

The delicious cake. For reals, it was tres delicious.

Father of the Bride-

And this is where we slept in the cow tent. I don’t think in my life I will ever wake up to a view like that again-

Then later that month we also had a saunter through the Captain America set as they were filming portions to look like old New York in Manchester. Hooooraayyy architecture!

At the end of September I attended the monthly drink’n'draw where I consumed this epic hot chocolate with all the marshmallows. All of them.

October 1st is my day of birth. I turned 26 this year and this is Adam documenting me opening my gifts. (Paperchase is the best. BEST!)

This was a teapot from my BFF Arturo and tea cups from Adam!

Home Alone (the best movie ever!) from Adam

Pantry Peepers ovenmit from Paperchase

Annnnd the matching apron and tea towels- all from Adam

Then … an Xbox battery pack… I assume so we can continue to play Scott Pilgrim together without wires and such in the way…

I was kinda giddy

My somewhat lopsided birthday cake heh ;)

Hair now straightened due to the hair straightener that Adam’s mum got me, I am blowing out my birthday cake candles! (All 26 of them)

Then we spent the morning eating cake while watching Home Alone *glee*

At some point we tried this Italian place by our apartment- this is the pretty little outside part-

I don’t think we realized that we’d be getting little crispy whole fish in our appetizer- not my idea of delicious- I assure you we ate many- well, Adam ate lots… I just tried em. But after a while… just ew…

These are a few photos Adam took- the living room:

View from our living room window-

Some of my Halloween decor:

At the end of October I also went back to Canada for my friends Jim and Stacy’s wedding and to visit my folks of course. The following two photos sum up the event perfectly. Words really aren’t necessary- This was Total Eclipse of the Heart:

(Please note Stacy made that dress herself HOLY POOP am I right!?)

Then we’re into November where I hung out with Adam and Chris Dillon and we went out for my first bonfire night :D woo Guy Fawkes Day!

We got to go on fair rides and look at a large pile of wood on fire ;)

This is a random photo that Adam took of me after work one night laying on the couch as he thought it looked like I had a green beard.

November 11th is not just a special day to remember. It is also Adam Cadwell’s birthday. So this is what he woke up to- a trail of penguins leading to the living room.

Oooo presents!

I also made him a Vimto cheesecake

His loot-

We had a house-warming/ birthday party on the 12th so here he is blowing out his cupcake candles

And there we have it- a very large re-cap. I hope you enjoyed it

Delicious Etsy Treats!

April 30, 2010

When I was in the UK I got introduced to the lovely and supremely talented Lynn Allingham who houses her creative wares in two Etsy shops. (Both are fantastic!)

I really wanted to shed a bit of light on her work because I’m extremely happy with my purchases mmhmm :D

Here’s the “Skills on Toast” necklace and “I <3 Toast" brooch that I bought.

There’s the Polka Dot Emporium:

This one is one of my favorites as Brian Cox is the bee’s knees!

And the Tuck-Shop:

Everything is so bloody adorable and awesome. My next purchase will probably be the Welly earrings. This is just a small taste of what she’s got available as well. Check it out!
